About Our Pilot

Jimmy Peterson has been flying hot air balloons over Moab since 2015, with more than 800 flight hours logged above Arches, Canyonlands, and the vast desert landscapes of southern Utah. He moved to Moab in 2010 and quickly fell in love with both the land and the sky.

Flying isn’t just his career, it’s his passion. When he’s not in a balloon, Jimmy is still chasing altitude. He’s an experienced BASE jumper, wingsuit pilot, rope swinger, and snowboarder who’s always finding new ways to see the world from above.

Jimmy grounds himself through yoga and meditation. That steady focus shows up in his flying; calm, present, and always tuned in to the experience.

He also loves to travel and unwind at home with his dog, Cactus, who’s happy to keep all four paws on the ground.

With hundreds of successful flights and deep knowledge of the terrain, Jimmy brings confidence, curiosity, and calm to every sunrise lift-off. You’ll feel at ease with a pilot who truly respects the sky, and the people who come to share it.
